Public Records Requests

It is the policy of the state of Florida that all state, county, and municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying by any person. However, please be aware that some public records, or portions thereof, are made confidential by Florida law. Due to the nature of the OFR's financial regulatory responsibilities, many of the OFR's records contain confidential information that cannot be made available for public inspection or copying.

If the records you have requested contain confidential information, the records will be provided with the confidential information redacted. If an entire record is confidential, it will not be produced, and the OFR will notify you regarding the confidentiality of the requested records.

You can make a public records request in person, by phone, fax, e-mail, or regular mail. Typical costs include $0.15 per page for requests in excess of 50 pages, and a service charge based on staff labor costs necessary to research, locate, and complete any redactions. Larger requests are generally provided electronically or on CD, which reduces the cost for paper copies.
