Winter Park Man Arrested in Alleged Promissory Note Investment Scam
Jerald Benjamin Clawson was arrested on charges of organized fraud and the fraudulent sale of securities for his involvement in an alleged fraudulent investment scheme.
Clawson allegedly operated through a business entity called Azure Waterfront Consulting, LLC, and solicited investors by using a program referred to as the “Fee-Note Program.” Victims were purportedly promised high returns of 100-300 percent on short-term investments in promissory notes tied to alleged loan commitment fees and were led to believe their investments were secured by liens on unspecified real estate.
The investigation is being conducted jointly with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Seminole County Sherriff’s Office, and the OFR. The case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.
